St. Peter's church opens more parking to public

Visitors to downtown Del Mar have new parking options thanks to an expanded agreement between the City and St. Peter's Episcopal Church.

When the private parking spaces are not needed for church services or events, the parish will open more than 30 spaces to the public at its main lot on 15th Street and Maiden Lane.

The parking is regulated with Pay and Display meters and enforced by the City of Del Mar.

Jan. 25-26: All-night bluff work to cause significant noise disruptions near 9th Street

SANDAG is warning that round-the-clock work along the railway Jan. 25-26 will cause noise and parking restrictions on 9th Street.

A concrete pump to be positioned at the bottom of the street will generate considerable noise. So will the nonstop coming and going of concrete trucks starting at 4 a.m. Jan. 25 and continuing into the evening of Jan. 26.

No-parking restrictions are scheduled for both sides of 9th Street west of Stratford Court.

The work is part of SANDAG's Del Mar Bluffs Stabilization 5 project and will coincide with a full closure of the railway for passenger and freight trains.

Night work on the bluffs is expected to continue through mid-2027.
