February: Short term rentals on City and Coastal Commission agendasAfter a multi-year process, actions to finalize the California Coastal Commission’s approval of regulations for short term rentals (STRs) and City implementation of the regulations are scheduled for consideration next month.
On Feb. 5 in Half Moon Bay, the Coastal Commission will vote upon a recommendation by commission staff to approve certification of Del Mar’s STR regulations as adopted by the City Council in 2024. With Commission approval, the ordinance would take effect immediately.
Del Mar’s short term rental ordinance provides accommodations for the 150 existing short term rental operators who registered with the City. These owners must submit permit applications to the City.
