Monday: City to launch portal for short-term rental operatorsThe City of Del Mar on Monday is set to launch an online portal for existing, registered owners of short term rentals to apply for operating permits. The application period closes May 1, 2026.
An $815 fee is due upon approval of the application; city staff will issue invoices to approved applicants.
Unregistered property owners are ineligible to apply but can request to be added to a waitlist.
The online portal will be accessible on Del Mar's Short Term Rentals webpage.

Heads up on NB Jimmy Durante Boulevard closuresHeads up, commuters, on intermittent closures of northbound Jimmy Durante Boulevard between Luzon Avenue and David Way to allow for construction on the adjacent hillside. Closures can be expected from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays through April.

March 7-8: Railway closure for nonstop constructionAnother weekend of suspended train service and round-the-clock construction for SANDAG's Del Mar Bluffs Stabilization Program is scheduled for 10 p.m. March 6 through 5 a.m. March 9.
The Del Mar Bluffs Stabilization 5 project is expected to continue through mid-2027.
