Adopted Budget

The City of Del Mar operates on a July 1 to June 30 fiscal year. The City prepares and adopts a new biennial budget in June on odd numbered calendar years. Annually, the City Council, with input from staff and the public, sets goals and priorities which shape the development of the proposed budget in odd years and a budget update for year two in even numbered calendar years. The City Council will adopt the biennial budget and budget update in June of each year which reflects a balanced budget designed to maintain high-level services, advance special and capital projects, and achieve City Council goals and priorities. Amendments are generally submitted with mid-year budget reports and agenda items requiring additional appropriations.
